Cultivation Objectives: it aims to cultivate versatile and application-orientated talents that bear knowledge and abilities of multiple subjects such as Broadcast & TV, News Broadcasting, Linguistic Literature, Broadcasting Theories, and Arts Science and can undertake posts concerning TV broadcasting and hosting in broadcasting station, TV station, media companies or other units. Students in this major mainly learn Chinese linguistic literature, broadcast & TV news broadcasting, basic theories and knowledge about Chinese broadcasting science, receive basic trainings on mandarin pronunciation, broadcasting sound production, language expression and grasp the basic abilities on broadcast & TV broadcasting and hosting.

Broadcast & TV Arts

In 2003, Department of Broadcast & TV Arts was successfully passed its application for the authority of granting master's degree and has started enrolling students since 2004, thus becoming the first master's degree granting authority in broadcasting & TV arts in Heilongjiang Province. Presently, there are 81 graduates and 82 students in this department.

Cultivation Orientation: to recruit and cultivate master students in seven fields, namely, TV arts and technology, digital media arts, studies on TV planning, TV sound arts and technology, studies on TV culture and arts, studies on audio& video culture, and studies on the theories and practice of media communication.

Cultivation Objectives: to cultivate high-level specialized talents that bear abilities of carry out jobs concerning program production of broadcast & TV arts, management and research, teaching, and research, that can master the basic principles of Marxism, Mao Zedong Thoughts and Deng Xiaoping Theories, stick to the four basic principles, love the country, obey the .laws and disciplines,  have high political consciousness, good moral quality and strong career dedication; and can commit to serve the socialist modernization and social development.

To cultivate full-around specialized talents that develop morally, intelligently and physically, and that have sound body and good psychology quality, and possess creative consciousness and team spirits; master systematic basic theories of this subject, receive applicable training about the technology, artistic accomplish and creation, learn a foreign in order to be able to read and translate the foreign documentations about the subject; be capable of apply the basic theories and professional knowledge into the research or practice on broadcast & TV arts; and acquire abilities of extending and expanding their knowledge and carrying out creative work.

School Period: 2-5 years.

Credit Requirement: graduates who acquire 38¡À2 credits (including six scores for the compulsory courses of public degree), and meet all the requirements for degree-granting will be granted Master's degree of Literature and Arts.

3.Instructor

Zhou Bohua, born in Oct, 1955, Professor and master instructor, is the president of the Institute of International Culture, and school-level master of Harbin Normal University and is also member (Harbin)of committee of the national CPPCC, member (Heilongjiang) of  Overseas Chinese Association, member of the standing committee (Harbin) of Overseas Chinese Association, president of Overseas Chinese Association (Harbin   Normal University), and member (Heilongjiang )of Democratic Progressive Party.

He has undertook the teaching of E-edit, Multimedia Technology and Arts, Principles of TV, presided two Heilongjiang Natural Scientific Fund Projects and two scientific projects for Heilongjiang Provincial Education Bureau and two engineering projects about higher education teaching reform. Besides, he has published more than 20 academic theses in national-level journals and won one first prizes of provincial-level teaching achievement, edit one textbook, TV Edit, and is the responsible person of the selected subject  TV Edit.

An Liguo, Wang Xiaomin

An Liguo, male, born in Mar. 1968, Professor, master instructor in Department of Broadcast & TV Arts and vice president of SMC, has taken responsibility for the teaching of courses like TV Camera and Research on TV Documentary and presided selected provincial course and focus on the research of TV arts and technology.

Wang Xiaoming, born in 1971, is Master, Associate Professor, master instructor and the dean of Department of Broadcast & TV Arts as well as a director of Harbin Film &TV Masters Association. She has once presided over ten programs such as Heilongjiang Philosophy and Society Planning, Heilongjiang Human and Social Science, Heilongjiang Art Science Planning, and published more than tem theses in the core magazines in China like Chinese TV; products made by her have been broadcast on media like CCTV and CCTV-E. And her academic interest is mainly the research on media planning.

 Han Qiang, born in Hulin city, Heilongjiang in July 1972, received Bachelor's degree of Science from the Physics Department, Harbin Normal University in 1997 and Master's degree of Education Science in Canberra in 2007¡£He is now an Associate        Professor of SMC and master instructor with his main research interest in arts and technology of broadcast & TV. Additionally, he has published four treatises such as Fundamentals of Video Technology and delivered more than ten academic theses in journals like Film Media, and Creative Journal for China Science & Education, and provided guidance to five students to win a variety of awards in national-level competitions.

Yao Yuanming, born in 1971, member of CPC, doctor, Professor, senior journalist, is now member of the Party committee and the vice president of SMC, Harbin Normal University. He graduated from the English Department of Harbin Normal Junior College in 1993, and then taught in HarbinNo.69 Middle School between 1993 and1995. Later he received master's degree of Journalism from Journalism School of Sichuan University in 1998. During 1998¡ª2008, he was a senior journalist in Harbin Daily Group. After that, he was awarded Doctor's degree of Literature and Arts from the Literature and Journalism School, Sichuan University in 2008 (research interest: culture and media). In addition, he has presided and involved in four national-level subjects and delivered five academic theses in national-level journals like Studies on TV, and Journalist and released one treatise, edited two national-level planned textbook. And three of his theses won Excellent Theses Award.

Liu Wenxi
Liu Wenxin, dean of Department of Journalism, CPC Member, Associate Professor, doctor of Literature and master instructor, has been teaching courses like Audio-visual Language, Creation of Film and TV Play and Modern Chinese; established a digital publication studio and news studio; positively give students guidance for practice activities. Academically, she pursuits and think ceaselessly; apart from dedicating to the teaching, she also emphasizes on the importance of academic research, probes into the issues and strives to achieve her goals, grasps the frontier academic dynamics, develops broad academic outlook and strong academic compatible ability, and shows a sound academic development perspective. After started teaching, she has published 13 theses, including one B-category these, two C-category theses, and five core periodicals and one textbook; and presided one provincial-level subject, and one school-level subject. Further more, she has attained one award for Heilongjiang Art Achievement.

Liu Lun, female, born in 1976, member of CPC, Association Professor, master of Literature, master instructor of Department of Broadcast & TV Arts, member of Heilongjiang Contemporary Literature Association, is now the head of Institute of Broadcast & TV News affixed to SMC and carry out research and teaching on TV literature and arts and literature writing. Besides, he is also responsible for the teaching of subjects like TV Writing and Commentary Writing. In recent years, he has presided six provincial-level or departmental -level teaching and scientific projects; published five treatises and textbooks and delivered over 20 theses in national- or provincial-level journals. Also, for many times, he has won various provincial-or school-level teaching and research rewards, and was rated in the first session "Lu Yu Shun Artistic Middle-aged and Young Teachers Award" by Harbin Normal University; won the second prize of Heilongjiang Higher Education Teaching Achievements and the third prize of Heilongjiang Art Achievements.

Industrial Design Engineering (Master¡¯s degree of Engineering)

In 2010, Department of Industrial Design Engineering (Master¡¯s degree of Engineering) was successfully passed its application for the authority of granting master's degree and has started enrolling students since 2011. Industrial Design Engineering (Digital image production)

1. Brief Introduction

Cultivation Orientation: photography and production for news report, advertising photography and production, portrait photography and production.

Cultivation Objectives:

To master Marxism, Mao Zedong Thoughts and Deng Xiaoping Theories, to advocate the basic lines and policies, love the country and observe the laws and disciplines, to possess good professional morality and entrepreneur spirits, to develop rigorous and realistic scholarship and work style and a sound body, and to positively serve the construction of our economy and social development. To cultivate high-level specialized and versatile and application-oriented talents with good professional accomplishments who have rich Chinese cultural foundation and international vision, and and possess solid theoretical fundamentals of industrial design and extensive knowledge of design, and combine sense and sensibility, science and arts; have strong abilities to solve the practical problems; be able to adapt to the demand of industrial design development and conduct technical or administrative posts regarding industrial design and other related fields independently. To cultivate professional talents regarding digital image post-production that can master the basic theories and professional skills of digital image post-production systematically, get known of the important documents on this subject and the updated researches of domestic and international creation, and acquire strong professional creativity and post-production of digital image.

School Period: full-time master students generally need two years to acquire a degree of industrial design engineering and the maximum length will not exceed 4 years; and for off-job study, professional courses will be involved in all the process of study.

3.Instructors

Hu Jing

Hu Jing, female, born in July 1968, is now the dean and professor of Photography Department in School of Media and Communication, and master instructor Photography Major. Her main research interest lies in digital video production and arts of ads photography. Up to now, she has published over 10 academic works such as Photography Course for Modern University, Digital Photography Course, Photography Conception and Hujing¡¯s Photographical Works, and delivered more than 20 theses and articles about photography in some state- or provincial-level journals and several of her photographical works have won national or provincial awards. In 2009, she got a duel prize in the 3rd China Photography Moral and Artistic Education. Her concurrent social posts include the member of Female Photographer Association, director of Photography Education Committee of China Higher Education Association, standing director of Heilongjiang High School Artistic Design Committee, director of Heilongjiang Photographer Association, and standing director of Harbin Photographer Association.

Mei Changqing, male, born in Aug. 1955, Professor and master instructor and member of China Photographer Association, has made great achievements in recent five years: (1) published 23 theses in the key photographical journals in China, and his photographical theses has been listed in the 7th, 8th and 9th national Photographical Theory Seminar. (2) 12 of his photographical works were chosen into the national photographical competition and won awards. (3) Published 5 treatises. (4) Presided 7 scientific projects concerning photographical arts and high-level teaching reform. (5) Held personal photographical show for five times in Pingyao (Shanxi) International Photographical Festival. (6) Published about 30 photographical works in newspapers and magazines like China Photo Press, Chinese Photographer, Photography World, And Public Photography.

Wang Weijian

Wang Weijian, male, born in Oct. 1960, is the president of SMC, Harbin Normal University, Professor and master instructor; Heilongjiang Young and Middle-aged excellent experts, a member of Chinese Visual Art Institute; the vice president of Heilongjiang Provincial and Municipal Design Association and Broadcasting Association; a director of Heilongjiang Art Society; and judge of the national art exhibition.

Liang Yuqing
Liang Yuqing, male, Associate Professor, is now the dean of Department of Animation in the School of Media and Communications, Harbin Normal University. And he is also the director of Heilongjiang Industrial Design Association, president of the Animation Branch of Heilongjiang Art Design Association and committee member of Harbin Youth Union. His works have won many prizes in all kind of competitions in China, among which, Only Music won the Second Prize (Interval category) for TV Channel Package Design issued by the Prize-awarding Office of China Broadcast & TV Association, Creative Award special for the mascot design of the 4th Special Olympics in P.R.C.; his 3D animation¡ªZhe Teng won the nominative award in the 11th National Art Exhibition in 2009; and Contribution Award for his teaching in Department of Animation in Annual Conference for Animation Talents (2009)

Shi Weizheng

Shi Weizheng, Associate Professor in the School of Media and Communications, Harbin Normal University, mainly undertakes work like graphic language and visual transmission, media ads & digital publications, and field research and creation. He has won the following awards: the Gold Prize for Brand Logo Design in the Star of Northeast Competition; the Second and Third Prizes in the 2nd National University Students Ads Design Competition sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Second Prize for Excellent Teacher Guiding Award; one First-prize and six honorable awards in the 3rd National University Students Ads Design Competition and winning corresponding the Second Prize and six honorable awards for Excellent Teacher Guiding Award ; the Gold Prize in Heilongjiang Construction of Socialist New Villages Public Welfare Ads Competition; and the First-prize for Excellent Teacher Guiding Award in National University Students Ads Design Competition (2007).

Zhou Bohua
Zhou Bohua, born in Oct, 1955, Professor and master instructor, is the president of the Institute of International Culture, and school-level master of Harbin Normal University and is also member (Harbin)of committee of the national CPPCC, member (Heilongjiang) of  Overseas Chinese Association, member of the standing committee (Harbin) of Overseas Chinese Association, president of Overseas Chinese Association (Harbin   Normal University), and member (Heilongjiang )of Democratic Progressive Party.

An Liguo
An Liguo, male, born in Mar. 1968, Professor, master instructor in Department of Broadcast & TV Arts and vice president of SMC, has taken responsibility for the teaching of courses like TV Camera and Research on TV Documentary and presided selected provincial course and focus on the research of TV arts and technology.

Wang Xiaomin
Wang Xiaoming, born in 1971, is Master, Associate Professor, master instructor and the dean of Department of Broadcast & TV Arts as well as a director of Harbin Film &TV Masters Association. She has once presided over ten programs such as Heilongjiang Philosophy and Society Planning, Heilongjiang Human and Social Science, Heilongjiang Art Science Planning, and published more than tem theses in the core magazines in China like Chinese TV; products made by her have been broadcast on media like CCTV and CCTV-E. And her academic interest is mainly the research on media planning.

Han Qiang
Han Qiang, born in Hulin city, Heilongjiang in July 1972, received Bachelor's degree of Science from the Physics Department, Harbin Normal University in 1997 and Master's degree of Education Science in Canberra in 2007¡£He is now an Associate        Professor of SMC and master instructor with his main research interest in arts and technology of broadcast & TV. Additionally, he has published four treatises such as Fundamentals of Video Technology and delivered more than ten academic theses in journals like Film Media, and Creative Journal for China Science & Education, and provided guidance to five students to win a variety of awards in national-level competitions.

Yao Yuanming Yao Yuanming, born in 1971, member of CPC, doctor, Professor, senior journalist, is now member of the Party committee and the vice president of SMC, Harbin Normal University. He graduated from the English Department of Harbin Normal Junior College in 1993, and then taught in HarbinNo.69 Middle School between 1993 and1995. Later he received master's degree of Journalism from Journalism School of Sichuan University in 1998. During 1998¡ª2008, he was a senior journalist in Harbin Daily Group. After that, he was awarded Doctor's degree of Literature and Arts from the Literature and Journalism School, Sichuan University in 2008 (research interest: culture and media). In addition, he has presided and involved in four national-level subjects and delivered five academic theses in national-level journals like Studies on TV, and Journalist and released one treatise, edited two national-level planned textbook. And three of his theses won Excellent Theses Award.

Liu Wenxin
Liu Wenxin, dean of Department of Journalism, CPC Member, Associate Professor, doctor of Literature and master instructor, has been teaching courses like Audio-visual Language, Creation of Film and TV Play and Modern Chinese; established a digital publication studio and news studio; positively give students guidance for practice activities. Academically, she pursuits and think ceaselessly; apart from dedicating to the teaching, she also emphasizes on the importance of academic research, probes into the issues and strives to achieve her goals, grasps the frontier academic dynamics, develops broad academic outlook and strong academic compatible ability, and shows a sound academic development perspective. After started teaching, she has published 13 theses, including one B-category these, two C-category theses, and five core periodicals and one textbook; and presided one provincial-level subject, and one school-level subject. Further more, she has attained one award for Heilongjiang Art Achievement.

Liu Lun
Liu Lun, female, born in 1976, member of CPC, Association Professor, master of Literature, master instructor of Department of Broadcast & TV Arts, member of Heilongjiang Contemporary Literature Association, is now the head of Institute of Broadcast & TV News affixed to SMC and carry out research and teaching on TV literature and arts and literature writing. Besides, he is also responsible for the teaching of subjects like TV Writing and Commentary Writing. In recent years, he has presided six provincial-level or departmental -level teaching and scientific projects; published five treatises and textbooks and delivered over 20 theses in national- or provincial-level journals. Also, for many times, he has won various provincial-or school-level teaching and research rewards, and was rated in the first session "Lu Yu Shun Artistic Middle-aged and Young Teachers Award" by Harbin Normal University; won the second prize of Heilongjiang Higher Education Teaching Achievements and the third prize of Heilongjiang Art Achievements.
