Economics
(Non-normal education; undergraduate education of four-year length of schooling; humanities and sciences)

The major is affiliated to Economics, under which three research directions, namely Theoretical Economics, Trade Economy and Media Economics, are set up.

1. Cultivation objective: To mainly train professionals who are boast of reasonable knowledge structure, solid Marxism economics theory, modern western economics theory and modern economic analysis methods.

2. Main courses: series of professional module courses, including Economic Mathematics, Political Economics, Socialist Economic Theory, Das Kapital, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, Public Finance, Monetary Banking, Development Economics, Economic Theory History, Chinese Economic Development History, Econometrics, etc.

Theoretical economic direction professional module courses: Das Kapital, Comparative Economics, Contemporary Economics Schools, Industrial Economics , Consumption Economics, and other main courses.

Trade and economic direction professional module courses: International Finance, Logistics Management, Retail Management, Introduction to Commodity, Marketing Planning and other main courses.

Media economic direction professional module courses: Media Economics, Media Industry Operation and Management, Media Marketing, Media Market Survey and Prediction, Media Human Resource Management, Advertising Design Affairs, Multimedia Technology, etc.

3. Employment direction: In recent years, graduates majored Theoretical Economics cultivated by our School mainly chose to study for a Master's degree or attend civil service exam. They mainly took a job at provincial comprehensive economic management departments and policy research departments. Graduates of Trade and Economics direction mainly went to financial institutions and enterprises and engage in business management, market research, modern marketing and economic activities analysis, etc. Graduates of Media Economics direction mainly went to news agency and industrial departments of cultural media and engage in operation and management of culture media, media market expansion, modern media economic analysis and prediction, etc.

Economics (Securities and Investment)

This major is affiliated to Investment Department.

1. Cultivation objective: To cultivate students¡¯ securities investment and financial management methods and skills through systematic study, and help them to possess the ability of analysis and settlement of financial and securities investment. The main objective is to train securities investment consultants and securities traders.

2. Main courses: series of professional module courses, including Financial Management, Market Economics, Management, Finance, Statistics, Investment Accounting, Basic Knowledge of Securities Market, Securities Issuance and Underwriting, Securities Exchange, Securities Investment Analysis, Financial Management, Marketing, Securities Practice and Operation, Monetary Banking, Securities Operation and Management, Futures Market Principle and Practice, Economic Law, Investment, Theory and Practice of Broker, etc.

3. Employment direction: students of this direction after graduation are expected to engage in financial and securities investment and finance management at industry and commerce enterprises, banks, securities companies, asset management companies, fund and trust company, public institutions and government departments.

Accounting

(Non-normal education; undergraduate education of four-year length of schooling; humanities and sciences)

This major is affiliated to Accounting Department, under which two directions, namely, Accounting and Finance Management are set up.

1. Cultivation objective: To cultivate inter-disciplinary, practical and innovative professionals who are suitable to the market economy needs, and also possess the knowledge and ability concerning accounting, management, economics, law and finance.

2. Main courses: series of professional module courses, including Basic Accountancy, Financial Accounting, Accounting Management, Cost Accounting, Budget Accounting, Financial Management, Accounting Computerization, Economic Law, Auditing, Political Economics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Principles of Statistics, and Management.

3. Employment direction: students of this direction are suitable to engage in accounting affairs, teaching and scientific research at enterprises, public institutions and government bodies.

4. Degree Awarded: Bachelor Degree in Management.

II. Postgraduate Major and Professional Orientations

Political Economics

1. Cultivation objective: this specialty is set up to cultivate professionals who are competent for comprehensive economic management department, policy research department, financial institutions and enterprise management work required by the socialist market economy.

2. Research direction: master¡¯s program of political economics includes two    research interests: Research on Theory and Practice of Socialist Market Economy, Socialist Macroeconomic Policy Research.

3. Construction of master¡¯s programs: since the political economics master¡¯s program is set up to recruit students, a lot of students have completed their studies, in which more than 150 have get a Master's Degree in Economics. After their graduation, they begin to play an important role in all trades and professions. The past master supervisors include Wangying, Liu Zhijun, Xu Yongjiang, Zhao Tian¡¯e, while now an master supervisors are Ma Shuqin and Baiyun.

4. Master supervisor (Brief introduction)

Ma Shuqin, female, was born in April 1963. She is now a professor, doctoral supervisor as well as the deputy dean of the Institute of Economics. As the responsible person of provincial top quality course, she has hosted four Provincial Philosophy Social Science Fund and Provincial Natural Science Fund projects, and published 4 academic monographs and over 20 research papers. His representative research paper--Thought on Construction of China's Stock Market Culture, which has been reprinted in its entirety by Xinhua Abstract (the China Social Sciences Abstract), was granted as the first prize of Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievements Award and Provincial Social Science Excellent Research Paper Award.

Baiyun, female, was born in May 1971. She is now a professor, master supervisor as well as the deputy dean of Political Science and Law Institute. She has hosted or involved in over ten provincial or ministerial research projects, and published two academic monographs, one teaching material as well as twenty research papers. She has won the first prize of Heilongjiang Philosophy Social Sciences Annual Meeting Excellent Achievements.

Xuming, male, was born in June 1964. He is now a professor as well as deputy dean of Institute of Economics, and the executive director of National Higher Normal University Das Capital Research Association. He has hosted or participated in more than 10 provincial research subjects; and published 4 academic monographs, 4 teaching materials as well as more than 50 papers. She has won the second prize of Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement.

5. Construction achievements over the past 10 years: Political Economics master¡¯s program, as one of the first master¡¯s programs of our university, has witnessed great achievements in aspects of discipline team construction, scientific research, personnel training, conditions construction and academic exchange. The cultivation plan for postgraduates highlights the training of students¡¯ application and innovation ability, and the overall strength is relatively strong. Over the nearly 10 years, teachers of this program have hosted or participated in 50 provincial scientific research subjects; published more than 30 academic monographs, 10 teaching materials as well as more than 200 academic papers. He has won five times the Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, and 10 times the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award. In March 2011, Applied Economics of the Institute of Economics was approved as the first-level discipline master¡¯s program.

Industrial Economics

1. Cultivation objective:

This major is designed to cultivate senior professionals of Industrial Economy management for our economic construction. Specific requirements are as follows:

(1). They should have high political thought level and solid Marxism theory basis; adapt to socialist economic construction needs; possess strong entrepreneur spirit, spirit of solidarity, cooperative spirit, innovative spirit, as well as stronger practical work ability; and actively serve the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics career.

(2) They should grasp the basic theory, systematic professional knowledge and modern technologies and methods of the industrial economics; possess strong scientific research ability; and rigorous study manner and simple style of work, so as to engage in work, teaching and research associated with this discipline.

(3). Master a foreign language; and be able to read and translate professional foreign language data proficiently.

(4). Have health body and mind.

2. Research direction

(1). Energy industry and city cluster development.

(2). Industrial development and international cooperation.

(3). Industrial policy and service trade.

3.Period of schooling

Period of schooling for off the job postgraduate student lasts for 3 years, while that for on-the-job postgraduate student is for three to four years.

4. Cultivation pattern and method.

Tutorial system is adopted for postgraduate cultivation. During the cultivation period, the instruction on students¡¯ ideology, classroom teaching and social practice should comply with the following principles:

(1) As far as the thought education is concerned, students should learn well the required Marxism-Leninism theory, and also actively participate in political study and public benefit activities. Supervisors and teachers should all care about their cultivation of political thought and moral characters, contributing to their all-round development in morality, intelligence, sport and beauty. Each semester ideological and political and moral conduct appraisal should be conducted on postgraduate students.

(2). In terms of the overall arrangement, theory is combined with practice; systematic theory study is combined with scientific research; and the tutorial system is combined with the collective training by supervisor group, teaching and research section (Research room).

(3) With regard to the instruction method, the supervisors should bring their expertise and guidance into full play; teach their students in accordance with individual differences; give full play to the individual talents and strengths of their students, so as to highlight the training of innovative ability and overall quality of postgraduates.

(4) Priority should be given to self-study in teaching organization. The role of supervisors is to enlighten, instruct, disabuse, conduct examinations as well as guide postgraduate to think in-depth and judge correctly, so as to cultivate their ability to analyze and solve problems independently. Systematically theoretical study is combined to encourage and organize postgraduate to participate in social practice and academic activities of this discipline.

(5). After the postgraduates enter into the college, the supervisor group will arrange instructor for each student based on two-way selection between teachers and students, and implement the guidance and training of postgraduate students.

Zhao Tian¡¯e

Zhao Tian¡¯e was born in April 1964 in Harbin. In July 1986, she graduated from Qiqihar Normal College and obtained the Bachelor's degree in education. She is now studying for a doctoral degree at Marxist College of the Northeast Normal University. She is now a professor, master supervisor as well as Dean of Department of Economics. The socialist economic theory and market marketing are her main research interests. She has published seven teaching materials and academic works including Market Marketing, An Overview of Market Economic Operation and so on. Besides, she has published twenty academic articles on Contemporary World & Socialism, Theoretical Frontiers, the Northern Forum, Academic Exchange and other newspapers

Guo Xiaoxun was born in September 1969 in Hegang city, Heilongjiang. In January 1992, he graduated from Harbin Normal University, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated from Northeast Agricultural University in 2004 and obtained a Master's degree in Economic Management. With Economic Ethics, International Trade as his main research interests, he is now an associate professor of Institute of Economics as well as the director of Applied Economy Teaching and Research Room. He has published three academic works, including Tax Law and Tax practice, Foundations of Economics. In addition, he has published 15 research papers on Academic Exchange, Education Exploration and other journals.
