Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Normal category, undergraduate, four years, the Science major)

1.Introduction:

The major is part of the department of mathematics and it is a national specialty major and provincial key major.

Cultivation Objectives: To teach students to possess higher teaching theory and practical abilities, build wide and deep mathematical basic theoretical knowledge to form strong capabilities in abstract thinking and certain skills in carrying on research and to master a foreign language and computer technology.

Major Curriculums: Mathematical Analysis, Advanced Algebra, Analytic Geometry, Complex Function, Real Variable Functions, Modern Algebra, Advanced Geometry, Differential Geometry, Functional Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equations, Mathematical Equations, Mathematical Instruction Theory for Junior High Schools, Study on Mathematic Problems Solving in Junior High Schools, Algorithmic Language, Principle of Computer, Data Structure, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Topology, Methods of Computation, Mathematical Model, Linear Planning, Applied Mathematical Statistics and Series of Elective Courses.

Employment Orientations: Teaching in junior or senior middle high schools, senior vocational high schools, as well as middle level teaching organizations and vocational teaching institutions of technology.

Majors for Master Degree and Study Fields

1. Introduction:

Cultivation Orientations: To enroll master postgraduates for five fields including basic mathematics (code of course 070101), computation mathematics (070102), probability and mathematical statistics (070103), applied mathematics (070104), operations and control theory (070105).

Objectives: To master systematic basic mathematical theory and special knowledge, to understand the leading edge academic trends of dedicated research direction, to build up independent study and research ability and capability for constant knowledge updating. To master a foreign language, basic knowledge and skills of using computers, and to improve the overall abilities of a student so as to lay solid foundation for their future work and scientific research in mathematics in future.

Term of Study: Apply flexible education system, 2 to 5 years.

Credit Points: The master degree postgraduates¡¯ education system adopts credit points system. The total points required is no less than 32 points, among which degree and major courses requires for 12 points, non-degree and major courses as well as elective courses requires no less than 10 points.

Requirements on Courses Examination: 1: The examinations for degree courses carried out in form of close-book examination, the corresponding credit points can only be granted when exam result reach above 75 scores. 2. The tests for non-degree and elective courses carried out in form of close-book or open-book examinations, the corresponding credit points can only be granted when result reach above 60 scores.

Chen Jianren, graduated in 1986 from Harbin Normal University as a Bachelor, in 2006 from the Capital Normal University as a doctor, associate professor and master degree candidates tutor. His major fields of study are harmonic analysis and functional analysis. He has carried out and completed one research funds program of Heilongjiang Province Department of Education and one program of Provincial Educational Reform for the New Century. He has published one book, Lebesgue Measures and Integrals¡ªQuestions and Solutions, and many dissertations in magazines such as Journal of Mathematics Analysis and Application as well as Nonlinear Analysis: Theory Method & Application.

Li Liwei, was born in September of 1972, received Master Degree of Sciences from Harbin Normal University and Doctor Degree of Mathematics. His major fields of study are optimization and theory of Banach space geometry. He has published two teaching materials through cooperation in Harbin Institute of Technology Press, taken part in three research projects above provincial level and participated in many programs including General Programs of National Natural Sciences Funds, General Programs of Natural Sciences Funds of Heilongjiang Province, and Heilongjiang Province Outstanding Youth Program. In 2010 he received the first prize for Heilongjiang College Sciences & Technology Award. In recent four years, he had issued four adopted papers on Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, Journal of Global Optimization, Nonlinear Analysis£¨Hybrid Systems£©.

Liu Huanping

Liu Ping, female, was born in May of 1977. She had been engaging in teaching in Harbin Normal University since her master degree graduation from the university in 2003. In 2008, she received Doctor Degree of Sciences from Northeast Normal University and in the same time she was named associate professor. Her main fields of study are bifurcation theory and partial differential equations. She had published more than 10 papers on core journals of national level or above, four SCI papers, including one paper on the standard journal JAF of the SCI, which is regarded as key achievement on bifurcation in recent years. She has carried out and completed one program of National Tianyuan Funds on Mathematics, one program of Heilongjiang Province Department of Education, and one project of Harbin Normal University Doctors Start-up Funds. Now she is presiding one program of Youth Funds of Heilongjiang Province and one project of the Backbone Teacher Program of Harbin Normal University. In 2011 she got supported by Heilongjiang Province New Century Talents Program. So far she has published three teaching materials, in 2008 she received one second prize of Heilongjiang Province Science & Technology Award. And she has made academic reports many times on national level academic conferences.

Liu Xinbo, received the Doctor Degree from Adam Mickiewicz University of Poland in 2005 and was named associate professor in 2008. He researches in layout structure and geometric properties of Musielak-Orlicz space. He has published 9 academic papers on journals home and abroad since 2001, three of them are SCI indexed. He chaired and completed one college science research program, one backbone program and one program of Department of Education of Heilongjiang Province. And he took part in many projects of national, provincial, and college levels as key player.

Lv Xueqin, was born in September of 1979, received the Master Degree of Sciences from Harbin Normal University in 2003 and the Doctor Degree from Harbin Institute of Technology. She was promoted to associate professor and master degree candidates instructor. Her research direction is theory of reproduction kernel space. And major study fields include digital approximation, arithmetic solution to differential equations, and theory of information. She had taken part in one project of National Natural Science Funds Program, two Natural Sciences Funds programs. And she had carried out one Youth Sciences Funds project of Heilongjiang Province, two projects of Heilongjiang Province Department of Education, two projects of Young Academic Backbone Supported Program of Harbin Normal University. She wrote and edited two volumes of teaching materials, received one prize from the Science & Technology Progress Award of Heilongjiang Province and one Science & Technology Award of Heilongjiang Colleges. She is now tutoring five master degree postgraduates.

Mo Huanmin, professor, doctor of Sciences. Directions of research: arithmetic solution to differential equations, mathematical modeling. He carried out and completed one general program of National Natural Science Funds of Heilongjiang Province and Backbone Teachers Planning projects of Heilongjiang Province each. Currently he is carrying out Planning Program of Doctoral Start-up Funds of Harbin Normal University and attending one National Natural Sciences Funds program. Within the last five years, he has published over 30 papers on key academic journals home and abroad, including seven SCI level, and one teaching material, Mathematical Models.

Pu Anshan, was born in 1964, professor and PhD. He is instructor for curriculum and theory of instruction major and pedagogy major of master degree candidates. His field of research is curriculum and theory of instruction of mathematics. So far he has published more than 20 academic papers on journals like Curriculums, Textbook, and Pedagogy. He had edited or co-authored seven books of teaching materials, which published at the Higher Education Press; and had taken in charge and participated in 7 projects of national, provincial and department levels.

Qian Fangsheng, male, was born in 1965. He received doctor degree from the Capital Normal University in 2006 and completed his research in postdoctoral station of University of Suzhou in 2009. He was promoted to associate professor in 2000. The major field of study is finite group and representation. He had published a number of academic papers on journals such as Algebra Colloquium, Mathematics Journal, and Annals of Mathematics. In the last five years, he has carried out one project of general program of Science & Technology Research of Heilongjiang Province and one project of Education and Teaching Reform of Heilongjiang. As to achievements, he had received a third place of second grade prize of college science & technology award of Heilongjiang province.

Xu Mingyue, was born in December of 1962, professor of mathematical sciences college of Harbin Normal University and PhD. At the same time he is standing member to the Mathematical Society of Heilongjiang Province and standing director to the Society of Industry and Applied Mathematics of Heilongjiang Province. Between September 1985 and June 1988, he studied in department of mathematics of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and graduated with the Master Degree of Sciences. In 2011, he graduated from the Control Science and Engineering Department of Aerospace College from HIT with the Doctor Degree of Engineering. Directions of his research include theory of probability and random procedure and random system control. Recent years he had published dozes of research papers on influential academic journals home and abroad such as IMA J. Math. Contr. Inf., Automatica, Systematic Sciences and Mathematics, Journal of System Simulations, Magazines of Mathematics, and Practice and Understanding of Mathematics. Besides, he had carried out or participated in lots of programs of Natural Sciences Funds of the Province, research projects of Heilongjiang Department of Education and attended many programs of National Natural Sciences Funds.

At the same time Mr. Wang Hui works as a supervisor in administration on political and professional ethic moral of Heilongjiang province, member to the 10th session of CPPCC of Heilongjiang, committee member to Jiusan Society of Heilongjiang Province, deputy director to the culture and education committee of Heilongjiang Jiusan Society, vice president of Northeast Region research society of mathematical education for junior high schools, deputy director of Heilongjiang research society of mathematical education for junior high schools, secretary to mathematical society of Heilongjiang.

He received numbers of research achievements from his engagement in functional analysis, ordinary differential equations, and theory of control and education on mathematics. Until now he has published one monograph and 76 research papers, carried out seven projects at provincial, department and college levels, and received three provincial research awards, eight research awards from department and college respectively. In the meantime, he also undertakes a certain teaching responsibility to postgraduates and undergraduates. So far under his instruction 42 postgraduates received their master degrees. And he received awards for his excellent teaching skills from the provincial, municipal relevant agencies and the college.
