Xu Shumei, female, is a professor of the College of Geographical Science of Harbin Normal University, as well as a master tutor, a doctor of tourism planning and management. She is mainly engaged in tourism planning and developing teaching and research work. She is presently a member of the provincial Science Advisory Committee.

2. Department of Resource and Environment Science

Head of the Department: Zhang Sichong

Zhang Sichong(1962 -), female, was a professor as well as a doctor. She is presently a teacher of graduates, as well as the director of Department of Resource and Environment Science in Harbin Normal University. Professor zhang received the Master¡¯s degree in environment project and a Doctoral degree in Ecology in 1990 and 2007 from Harbin Institute of Technology and Northeast Forestry University, respectively. For many years, the research interests of professor zhang includes environmental science, environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring, planning, etc. She has engaged in many scientific research projects, such as Natural Science Fund, Natural Science Fund. She is the Backbone of the Chinese Engineering Science.

3. Department of geographic information science

£¨1£©Dean: Zhang Lijuan (personal introduction)

Zhang Lijuan, born in 1965, was a female professor and master advisor. In 1987, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Agrometeorology of Nanjing Institute of Meteorology. From 2000~2003 years, she was a in-service learner for a Master's degree in Natural Geography of Harbin Normal University. From September 2003 to June, 2006, she studied for a Doctoral degree in Digital Agriculture at Nanjing Agricultural University and received a Doctoral degree. In October, 2007, she was appointed as a full professor. In 2008, she worked at the postdoctoral research station of East Asia Regional Atmosphere Climate Environmental Key Laboratory of Chinese Academy of Sciences and left in 2011.

 From September 1987 to December 1995, she worked at Heilongjiang Meteorological Observatory and was appointed as an engineer in 1992. Since December of 1995, she has been working at the Department of Geography of Harbin Normal University, and was appointed as an associate professor and a full professor, in 1999 and 2007 respectively. She is currently the head of the Department of geographic information science.

Nearly five years, she mainly undertakes Meteorology and Climatology, Air Pollution Meteorology, GIS Spatial Analysis, Geographical Information Statistics and other courses for undergraduate students and Mathematical Methods in Geography for graduate students. She has successively hosted six provincial or city level projects, and participated in several of the National Natural Fund projects and "973" projects of Ministry of Science and Technology. She has published more than 40 articles on the national first-level journal or core journals, of which   one is SCI retrieval project, four EI retrieval projects. In addition, she has also published or edited five publications.

III. Scientific and technological platform

1. Geographic information system laboratory

£¨1£©Brief introduction:

In september 2000, the geographic information system laboratory was established with the support of Department of Geography of Harbin Normal University(the current College of Geographical Science ). The existing staff   includes six full-time teachers and three part-time professors, of which there are three professors, three associate professors, two lecturers, and one assistant. They all have Master's degrees. The laboratory has the use area of 87.63 square meters and 560000 yuan hardware and software instruments and equipment, including one HP800 mapper, one color scanner, one HP laser printers, twenty five desktop computers, as well as geographic information system software ARCGIS9.0 and remote sensing image processing system ERDAS8.7. The laboratory has undertaken more than ten of the provincial or above scientific research projects (fund of 910 thousand yuan).

(2) Zhang Dongyou, the person in charge of.

Zhang Dongyou, male, was born in October 1973. As an associate professor, a doctor as well as a master advisor, he is presently the vice president of the College of Geographical Science. His main research interests include 3S technology and forest resources management. He has hosted a key science and technology research project in Heilongjiang, two science and technology projects of Department of Education, Heilongjiang Province, and attended as a major participant several science and research projects, including 3 of the National Natural Science Foundation Projects, two National Natural Science Foundation Projects in Heilongjiang province, one key science and technology research projects in Heilongjiang, science and research projects associated with resources monitoring and forestry 3S integration technology in Heilongjiang province. He has published 2 works and 15 research papers, including four EI papers. One was awarded as the Beijing Municipal Science and Invention First Prize (ranking 11), one as Heilongjiang Science and Technology Progress Second Prize(ranking 4), one Heilongjiang Science and Technology Progress Third Prize(ranking 2), and one First Prize in Science and Technology of Heilongjiang University(ranking 5).

2. Remote sensing laboratory

£¨1£©Brief introduction:

Remote sensing laboratory is an important laboratory of the geographic information system research at the College of Geographical Science. With an area of 68 square meters, the lab houses 48 sets mirror stereoscope and parallax bars, which can meet the experiment requirements for 40 people at the same time;the four sets field spectrophotometer can meet the experiment requirements of four groups. The remote sensing laboratory undertakes the remote sensing experiment of undergraduate students of College of Geographical Science (the original Department of Geography of Life and Environmental Sciences College) , of the current geographical science, resources environment and rural and urban planning management and the geographic information system. The experiment of the altitude difference between the aerial photography and three-dimensional observation and the ground can be conducted in groups;visual reading test of aerial pictures and satellite images uses direct reading of symbols to give visual interpreting for aerial pictures and satellite images ; the fifth spectrum curves, including spectrum curves of surface features as forest land, grassland, water, roads, can be measured using field spectrophotometer (in groups).

 (2) Yan Guanfa, the person in charge of.          

Yan Guanfa, born in November 7, 1972, is of Han nationality. He was admitted into the Harbin Normal University and graduated in 2000 with a Master's degree. At the same year, he became a faculty of his Alma Mater, mainly engaging in the teaching work relating to cartography, introduction of remote sensing, remote sensing image processing, and geological remote sensing .

3. Environmental science laboratory

£¨1£©Brief introduction:

 The modern multimedia laboratory was established in June 2005. The lab covers an use area of 60.63 square meters and houses 1 million yuan of instruments and equipment, including atomic fluorescence photometric, soil pollution survey system, full-automatic water quality analyzer, electronic scales, constant etmperature electric desiccator, dissolved oxygen meter, biochemical incubator, uv-vis spectrophotometer, total suspended particles sampler, atmospheric sampler. In normal operation, the lab enables determination of main monitoring items including main physical properties of water as well as metal compounds, nonmetal compounds and organic compounds, determination of major pollutants of the total suspension particles in air, SO2 and environmental noise. The existing staff includes six full-time teachers, of which there are one professors, three associate professors, one lecturers, and one assistant. They all have Master's degrees. The scientific & research projects under research include the National Natural Science Funds Project "Research on the Soil Animal Functions of the Greater Hinggan Mountains Forest Ecological System under Different Conditions", Education Department of Heilongjiang project "Research on the Ecological Environmental Degradation and Recovery Direction in the Greater Hinggan Mountains, Daqing Regional Ecological Safety Evaluation and Countermeasures", provincial Department of Science and Technology project "Strategic Environmental Assessment planned by Suihua Ecological Demonstration Zone" and other types and levels of scientific research projets. In recent years the lab has won one Third Prize in Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province and three items of Three Prize in Science and Technology of Heilongjiang University.

IV Research institutions

Environmental Science Research Center of Harbin Normal University

 £¨1£©Brief introduction:

Environmental Science Research Center of Harbin Normal University, founded on January 1, 1986 , is one of the first units with EAs qualifications in Heilongjiang province. The center now has environmental impact assessment Class b Qualification Certification issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, widely engaging in environmental protection impact assessment to actively make contribution to social development.

The Environmental Science Research Center of Harbin Normal University possesses a technical team consisting of highly educated and experienced teachers. The existing staff includes five professors, six associate professors, nine lecturers and one teaching assistant. Among them, there are sixteen with doctorate degrees, nineteen with master's degrees, fifteen with qualified EAs work licenses, and five registered environmental impact assessment engineers (2 engineers are in the process of registration).

Relying on the strong research advantages of Harbin Normal University, the Environmental Science Research Center of Harbin Normal University boasts of a set of international advanced laboratory equipment, such as, atomic analysis spectrometer, GPS, full-automatic atmospheric environment monitor, gas chromatography analyzer, uv spectrophotometer, noise analyzer, which enables it to carry out monitoring and analysis over atmosphere, water, sound environment independently.

     Since 2008, the center has completed nearly a hundred EAs projects, which provides technical support for the sustainable development of the harmonious society as well as the coordinated development of local economy and ecological environment, greatly contributing to the sound and fast development of social economic construction.

The center has conducted a series of provincial famous EAs projects and made certain contribution to environmental protection in Heilongjiang province. These projects include the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, Laboratory Building of Harbin Normal University, Acheng Electronic Machinery Processing project, Longxiang Community Housing Project, Tianyu Company Production Workshop Project, etc.

£¨2£©Wang Xuanzhang, the director.

Wang Xuanzhang was born in October, 1957. He was promoted to full Professor and awarded as one young and middle-aged expert of Heilongjiang with outstanding contribution, in 1992 and 1995 respectively. In 1996, he began to receive the government subsidies from the State Council. He was awarded as one of the national young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contribution and the discipline leader of provincial key discipline "Condensed Matter Physics" in 1998. One of his projects has been awarded as the Heilongjiang Science and Technology Progress Third Prize heilongjiang province third prize, and two as the Second Prize (both as the first author) . He has hosted or are hosting eight national or provincial projects. He is also the winner of Outstanding Youth Fund of Heilongjiang.

Wan Luhe, the standing deputy director

Born in September 1967, he is one master advisor, as well as the dean of the College of Geographical Science of Harbin Normal University. His postdoctoral research direction is spatial decision support system and data mining. Practice one: instruct two terms of students of geographical science major to attend a 6 weeks of education practice, with the students of 128; practice two:  instruct four terms of students of the geographic information system major to attend a three weeks of field exercitation, with 79 students; Graduation design/paper©¤provide for undergraduate graduation thesis guidance, with the total number of students reaching 22. Besides, he has also guided students of GIS major to attend two College Students' Innovation Fund Project.

Wan Luhe, male, was born in 1967. A doctor, master advisor, as well as the dean of the College of Geographic Science.
