二、Experimental Teaching

1、Teaching Concept

Music Experimental Teaching focuses on cultivating students’ onstage performing abilities and theoretical innovative spirits; carries out interactive and coordinative teaching based on the traditional one-way teaching or demonstrative teaching; builds up multi-layer training system and teaching module and corresponding cultivation resolutions regarding the variety, distinctiveness of this subject and students’ hobbies and capacities. Modularized and multi-layer training programs will help stimulate students’ learning interest and cultivate their autonomic learning ability, boost their comprehensive accomplishments and coordinative spirits and lift their artistic practice and production.

2、To implement modularized and hierarchical teaching system:

Four training systems: normal category (e.g. teacher’s education); theoretical type (e.g. theories of musicology)

Acting type (e.g. piano playing); Creative type (e.g. computer music production)

Four teaching modules: basic knowledge (e.g. theoretical class for music basics)

Professional skills (e.g. class for teaching keyboard, vocal music skills)

Comprehensive simulation (e.g. indoor music performance, chorus training)

Competitive training (e.g. giving performance in Summer of Harbin Concert, Young Singer Chorus Competition)

3、Teaching Content

As to teaching content, it focuses on the fundamental and professional trainings and emphasizes the development of comprehensive practical abilities:

Fundamental knowledge: mainly including the basic theories on musicology, theories of composition techniques, basic theories of performance.

Professional skills: mainly including vocal music, instrument singing and playing

Comprehensive simulation: mainly including chorus, indoor music and symphony performance

Competitive training: mainly including all kinds of public performance and theses or music works published.

4、Teaching Methods and Means

Combining the teaching experience from the domestic and abroad arts academies and musical disciplines in the comprehensive universities and the specific situation of the art education in our center, we adopt the following teaching methods and means:

One-to-one training: in a certain period of time, a teacher will only guide a student so that they can exchange opinions and resolve the problems timely.

Case study training: based on the specific aim and requirements, some typical, inspiring and innovative cases will be provided to the students for appreciation, analysis and imitation.

Onstage practice: by carrying out abundant onstage practice, students will use the previous training achievements to rapidly improve their comprehensive abilities of artistic practice.

Microteaching training: by applying microteaching, students will receive professional technical training.
